Coolhousing improves detection of fire in server rooms
Recently, Coolhousing finished installation of a new system for fire detection in their collocation centre. The heart of the system consists of a modern and precise laser detector, Vesda VLF 250, which activates fire alarm and alerts centre operators if it detects smoke particles in the air. The system is capable of distinguishing up to four pre-configured fire levels. Thanks to this innovation, servers of Coolhousing's customers are better protected than ever before.

A new month is here again and we are bringing you several updates and news that happened in Coolhousing server hosting. IPv6 Enabled Program
The Coolhousing data center network naturally supports IPv6 protocol.
Recycled, but still powerful
In dedicated servers offer are recycled HP servers. These servers was in our offer earlier, but at now are not used. We want return these reliable and powerful servers in to operation for great price. Servers was cleaned, cooling fans was been replaced, discs and RAM tested. First server is HP Compaq dx2450 based on AMD Athlon X2 4450B, with 2GB PC2-6400 and two 250GB SATA II HDD. Second server is HP Proliant ML115 based on AMD Opteron 1210, 2GB PC2-5300E and two 160GB SATA HDD.
OpenBL.org – Blacklisting and Abuse Reporting
We have become the sponsor of the "OpenBL.org - Blacklisting and Abuse Reporting" project. Every five minutes, this project updates the blacklist of IP addresses which are most frequently used for brute force attacks. IPv6 Hosting? Yes and with a discount!
So far everybody just talked about it but now it is true. Last available IPv4 addresses are disappearing from the IANA central register. This fact does not mean that the Internet will collapse but we must realize that there are no more IPv4 addresses available and that there will never be any more. We, at Coolhousing are aware about this fact, and since January 2009 we have been actively supporting the IPv6 protocol. Now, we decided to go even further. We shall reward all server owners who run their applications under the IPv6 protocol. Each of our client who will use in his hosting IPv6 addresses only is entitled to a discount of up to € 58,- every month - subtracted from this monthly fee.

It is not a long time from last transit connectivity update and is here next upgrade for our customers.
