Within the Services Provider License Agreement (SPLA) program, of which we have been a member since 2010, there will be price changes with the coming new year. So, what can we expect?
Operating system Windows is one of the most popular Microsoft products among our customers. As new versions of some key Microsoft products will be released in 2025, Microsoft increases the price of MS Windows Server by 10%. Nearly after two years.
Upgrade to Windows Server 2025
The new version of the Windows Server operating system was announced on the beginning of this year, followed by the release of a public preview version. However, the official sales launch date has not been announced, yet. Windows Server 2025 will bring new features, such as modernized identity management and enhanced cybersecurity protections. With MS Windows Server 2025, you will get a robust platform for your current applications and AI-driven tasks. Thanks to our data center’s SPLA membership, all new and existing customers can upgrade to this new OS for free .
RDS – Remote Desktop Services
Remote Desktop services are an integral part of every Windows Server for server management. As part of the Windows Server license provided to customers through the SPLA program, two Remote Desktop licenses are included for server administration purposes for free. However, full Remote Desktop Services (RDS) licenses, which are used for regular server work by users, need to be purchased separately. A piece of good news for customers using RDS is that there is no planned price increase for RDS licenses.
MS SQL Standard
Microsoft’s robust database system needs no introduction. As Remote Desktop licenses, there are no announced price increases for either the “per Core” or “per User” (SAL) licensing models.
The information is for informative purposes only. Our updated price list will be available to you in early December, following the release of the full details by Microsoft. The final prices will also reflect the exchange rate and other variables.
