Samsung starts production of new types of memories, which will find use expecially in HPC. AMD endured the last year with a significant decrease of sales.
Samsung starts with HBM2
Samsung company, known as producer of everything from toilet paper to components for rockets, decides to cooperate closely with NVidia company on their new chips Pascal. For them will produce new types of memory called HBM2. NVidia and Samsung want more dominate the world of HPC by this step, which are already dominate in a manner. AMD noticed a 28% decrease of sales
It´s January and it´s time for balancing. Also AMD, one of the largest producers of processors and graphic cards, publishes its financial results. And maybe a bit surprising is that AMD noticed a significant drop in sales last year, specifically 28 %! In absolute terms it equates to loss 1,56 billion dollars (about 40 billion CZK), compared with the year 2014. AMD has announced that it´s going to focus on HPC (High-Performance Computing) and server area in the new year. We will see if it brings significant good turn. More information
